| | Still blooming, though they have been in the ring for quite a while now: De Heideroosjes, the most famous Dutch punkrock band, founded in 1989. Immediately signed to major punk label Epitaph (until 1998) the band from Limburg became famous by playing at various festivals and due to their distinguishing punk sound. Touring not only the Netherlands but also Belgium, Germany, Austria and even the U.S. and certain parts of Asia the band has built a solid international fanbase by adding some steroids to the term “hard rocking”. Eleven albums and a Grammy Award under their belt, celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2009, Marco Roelofs (vocals, guitar), Frank Kleuskens (guitar, vocals), Fred Houben (bass) and Igor Hobus (drums) take a sabbatical in 2010 to work on their new album and subsequently the international stages with full force again in 2011. |
