Top-quality sound in a pocket-sized package: the MM 80i Travel from Sennheiser

Long journeys seem much shorter with good music or an exciting film – especially when you can listen in perfect peace without background noise. This luxury is guaranteed by the new MM 80i Travel, which has been specially developed for the iPhone*. The headset combines top-quality Sennheiser sound with the very high passive noise attenuation of compact ear canal earphones, ensuring relaxed listening on planes and trains. The MM 80i Travel headset has been part of the Sennheiser Travel Line since July.

“The MM 80i Travel will fit into even the smallest bags,” explains Product Manager Christian Ern. “These are real high-end ear canal earphones that offer powerful bass and a detailed, lifelike sound and provide excellent attenuation of background noise. The MM 80i Travel is the perfect companion for frequent travellers.” It comes with a selection of six ear-fit rings to ensure that they optimally adapt to the shape of the ear canal, guaranteeing a perfect fit to provide high passive noise attenuation.

Made for the iPhone
The headset combines superb sound with a convenient hands-free system. The microphone and control unit are integrated into the cable and allow the Apple iPhone and other Apple products to be effortlessly controlled at the push of a button. “A wide variety of functions can be controlled with a single button. Depending on how often and how long the button is pressed, music and videos can be played paused or skipped to the next/previous track,” explains Christian Ern. The control unit can also be used to answer, end or reject telephone calls and to activate the Voice Control function. A particularly useful apple feature: the music is automatically paused during a phone call. This enables you to seamlessly switch between listening to music and telephoning while you are travelling, making sure that you never miss an incoming call or your favourite song.

The MM 80i Travel is compatible with iPhone 4, iPod nano (4th and 5th generation), iPod touch (2nd generation), iPod classic (120GB/160GB), iPad, and 2009 models of Macbook, Macbook Pro and Mac Pro. Voice Control is supported by iPhone and latest iPod touch.

Everything included
Another unique feature is the plug adapter. It can be used to convert a straight stereo jack plug quickly and easily into a right-angled jack plug or a double mono jack plug. This allows the headphones to be optimally connected to portable players and all types of in-flight entertainment systems. At the same time, the adapter adjusts the impedance of the travel headphones, which is often much higher in in-flight entertainment systems than in mobile devices. "This adapter ensures that the MM 80i Travel provides perfect sound from all sources, whether it is an MP3 player, an iPhone or in in-flight entertainment system," explains Christian Ern.

In addition to the plug adapter and the ear-fit rings made of silicone and foam, the earphones also come with a protective carrying case, a cable clip, a cleaning tool and clip-on ear hooks.

The MM 80i Travel will be available from the end of July in Apple Stores and Apple Online Shops and from Sennheiser sales partners.
