Listening in style: Eight Sennheiser headphones win red dot design awards
Just a few weeks ago, Sennheiser won six iF product design awards from the International Forum Design. Once more, the audio specialist is celebrating having secured yet another host of awards for its headphones – in all, eight of this year’s famous red dot design awards have gone to Sennheiser products.
“We really are delighted that our products have done so well in the red dot design competition,” says Susanne Seidel, President of Global Marketing at Sennheiser. In the entertainment technology category the top-of-the-range
“Electronics and entertainment are becoming ever more prominent as part of leisure-time activities. People like to listen to music no matter where they are and this trend is, in turn, influencing the demands being made on headphone design” explains Susanne Seidel. “When making their decision to purchase a particular headphone or headset, consumers also express their commitment to sound and sound quality. That’s why with our products, design is always teamed with high sound quality,” continues Susanne Seidel. Winning the red dot awards once more highlights Sennheiser’s ability to combine superb audio expertise with excellent design capabilities.

Fans of design who would like to see the award-winning products for themselves can do so from 5 July at the red dot design museum in Essen. During a special four-week exhibition entitled “Design on Stage”, all the products will be on display in the European Capital of Culture Ruhr.2010. Immediately afterwards comes “red dot on tour”, a touring exhibition that takes the winning products to a wide range of design metropolis all over the world. Last year’s stop-off points included Dubai, Tokyo, Sydney, Seoul, Moscow, Singapore, Beijing and Shenzhen. More information about this year’s exhibition venues plus all the product descriptions will be available at www.red-dot.org from 5 July.
