evolution wireless G3 300 Series
The specialist for installed sound solutions

When it comes to audio transmission in small theatres and churches, at conferences, seminars or lectures, wireless microphones are now standard equipment in many areas. They enrich cultural events by helping everyone to hear what is being said. With its evolution wireless 300 G3 series, audio specialist Sennheiser is presenting six new systems for these applications.

“Rugged metal housings and a fast set-up with infrared synchronisation between transmitters and receivers make the 300 Series the optimum choice for installed sound systems,” explained Product Manager Martin Fischer. “Of course, the series also includes the Soundcheck Mode for monitoring the audio and RF levels. A new feature is the Ethernet socket on the rack-mount receiver. This allows the receivers to be remotely monitored and controlled by computer via our ‘Wireless Systems Manager’ software.” The software is being continuously expanded and updated and is freely available to users as a download at the Sennheiser website.

Outstanding audio quality
A wide frequency response of 25 to 18,000 Hz and the HDX compander ensure optimum audio quality during transmission. To make sure that users can do justice to the most varied sound sources and voices, the systems have an integrated equalizer and a wide adjustment range for the audio sensitivity: 48 dB for handheld transmitters and receivers, 60 dB for bodypack transmitters. The ‘Vocal Sets’ of the series are equipped with microphone heads from the well-known evolution 800 Series, but other microphone heads from the evolution series can, of course, also be used. This ensures that the handheld transmitters are always perfectly adapted to the application.

Optimum wireless conditions
evolution wireless G3 provides up to 1,680 switchable frequencies over a 42 MHz switching bandwidth. The 300 Series has 20 channel banks with up to 24 compatible presets each, and six further channel banks are freely programmable in 25-kHz steps. The transmitter output power can be reduced from 30 mW to 10 mW in order to ensure a maximum of operational reliability in multi-channel applications. The system is programmed in two levels via a large, back-lit dot matrix display. The User Level contains everything that is immediately required for an event, while the Advanced Level allows the adjustment of basic settings such as synchronisation parameters that do not need to be changed every day.

Remote switching for the bodypack transmitter
A particularly useful feature is the “remote” switch that is available as an accessory for the SK 300 bodypack transmitter. The transmitter can be worn inconspicuously under the clothing and can be muted whenever necessary using the small wired switch in a pocket. For this purpose, the SKM 300 handheld transmitter has an easily accessible ‘Mute’ switch on the microphone body. Individual settings can also be programmed for the ‘Mute’ switch on the bodypack and handheld transmitters: microphone on/off, RF signal on/off, Push-to-Talk, Push-to-Mute and inactive.

Good for long-term use – and for the environment
All transmitters of the 300 series can be powered either by standard batteries or by Sennheiser’s special rechargeable battery packs, which can be conveniently recharged while still in the transmitter. “That cuts battery costs and protects the environment at the same time,” said Martin Fischer. “And the wireless systems are quickly and conveniently ready for the next application.”

All 300 Series systems are available from April 2009. In the Americas, the systems will be available from May 2009.
